Chalk Walk 2025 Volunteers Needed! –
Save the Date! Chalk Walk is coming soon!
What: Chalk Walk is a school wide event. Classes will work collaboratively to recreate a book cover in chalk on the sidewalk.
Where: At the front of the school (on the sidewalk)
When: Tuesday, June 3, 2025
How (can I help): We need a minimum of 2 volunteers per classroom on June 3rd from 8:30-1:00 (Lunch will be provided for our volunteers). Volunteers will be supervising students as they color in the artwork. We also need volunteers to help prep the day before (June 2). Come anytime between the hours of 9:00-12:00. We need assistance drawing grids and a simple sketch of the art. No drawing experience needed. If you can’t make it in person, you can help by donating blue painter’s tape and baby wipes. We will also need shop vacs and canopies to borrow.
Why: We want to keep Wolf Canyon tradition alive! And we love art and books!

Promotion – Please join us Friday, June 6th, 2025 for our Sixth Grade Promotion. The program will begin at 9:00am on the Wolf Canyon blacktop (playground). We will be celebrating and promoting Wolf Canyon’s Class of 2025. The event will last approximately one hour and students will be dismissed to begin their summer vacation. All other grade levels are expected to complete school and be dismissed at 1:45pm.
Details:
- We will be entering and exiting through the bus loop gates. Parking will be limited!
- Gates will open at 8:00am.
- No balloons or airhorns.
- Students need to report to their classroom by 8:30am.
- There will be open seating but please no saving of seats.
- All family members are invited.
- Before leaving campus, please make sure to stop by your child’s respective table by the lunch arbor to pick up their final packet with promotion certificate, report card, and class picture inside.
We ask all students adhere to our promotion attire:
- Boys: Dark slacks (black, dark blue, dark brown – no jeans) and white button-down top. Jacket and tie optional.
- Girls: White dress or white blouse with dark bottom (pants or skirt – no jeans).
Class of 2025 Jump Around Field Trip! – We will be having our class field trip to Jump Around on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025! Students will have access to the ENTIRE facility for the day and lunch will be provided!!!!! Thank you!

Nightly Homework – Please make sure your child is getting daily practice by ensuring they do their homework nightly, Monday through Friday. Students will utilize a daily planner to keep track of daily practice. Please initial nightly and sign at the end of the week. Every night, your child should be:
- Reading for at least 30 minutes
- Completing approximately 20 minutes of math practice on either Teams, IXL.com, or iReady
- Playing iReady for 15 minutes, Monday through Thursday
Accelerated Reader – We are on week 7 of our 9-week quarter. That means your child should have approximately 78% of their AR goal. We expect all students in sixth grade to read for one hour each day, Monday through Friday. Students read for 30 minutes in class daily and should also be reading for 30 minutes for homework.
