We hope everyone had a fantastic break and we are looking forward to an amazing end to your student’s time at Wolf Canyon Elementary. The end of sixth grade is always a bittersweet time with lots of fun and exciting activities – yet with the understanding of our time together is coming to an end. Here’s to a beautiful and unforgettable ending to sixth grade and the start of a fulfilled next step in your child’s academic journey!
Promotion Pictures – Next Tuesday, April 14th, 2026, will be Picture Day at Wolf Canyon. However, for our sixth graders, they will be taking their PROMOTION PICTURES!!!! Our sixth graders will be wearing a cap and gown to commemorate the end of their elementary schooling. The picture will be used for end-of-year certificates and you will have the option to order prints to keep. Since students will be wearing caps and gowns, students do not have to dress up. Students may style their hair as the cap doesn’t cover the entire top of the head. Where has the time gone???
Sixth Grade Camp Forms and Payment
Please turn in your child’s camp forms and payment FRIDAY, APRIL 17TH, 2026. The camp packet should have a YELLOW front cover. Inside, you’ll find all the forms and information needed for this year’s camp. See below which forms are required and which forms are as needed.
How to go to camp:
1. Look for your child’s camp packet. It should look like this:
2. Complete TWO REQUIRED PINK HEALTH FORMS. They should look like this:
3. Complete ONLY IF NECESSARY Medication Authorization Form if your child is bringing ANY prescribed or over-the-counter medicine – even vitamins! The form must be signed by for family doctor before attending camp. The medication needs to be dropped of to our nurse prior to camp. The forms should look like this:
4. Complete ONLY IF NECESSARY Special Meals and Accommodations form if your child has any dietary needs or requires and special accommodations. If the need is due to medical reasons, you must have your doctor’s approval before attending camp. It should look like this:
5. Send in payment with forms. This year, camp will cost $400. This will cover the entire week at camp – lodging, food, activities, etc… This also includes transportation of your camper and their luggage. No extra money will be needed at camp. We will accept cash and checks. Please make all checks payable to: Wolf Canyon Elementary. Your child will receive a receipt to verify payment. Please keep the receipt in a safe place!
Nightly Homework – Please make sure your child is getting daily practice by ensuring they do their homework nightly, Monday through Friday. Students will utilize a daily planner to keep track of daily practice. Please initial nightly and sign at the end of the week. Every night, your child should be:
- Reading for at least 30 minutes
- Completing approximately 15 minutes of assigned math practice on either iReady, Teams, or IXL.com.
- Playing iReady My Path for 15 minutes of differentiated practice, Monday through Thursday.
Accelerated Reader – We are on week 1 of our 9-week quarter. That means your child should have 11% of their AR goal. We expect all students in sixth grade to read for one hour each day, Monday through Friday. Students read for 30 minutes in class daily and should also be reading for 30 minutes for homework.

- May 29th, 2026 – SIXTH GRADE COTILLION @ 5pm
- June 5th, 2026 – Sixth Grade Promotion @ 9:00am
