Parent-Teacher Conferences – We look forward to the start of Parent Teacher Conferences this week! Please remember, starting this Thursday, September 12th, students will be dismissed at 1:45pm. This schedule will remain until the end of the first quarter. The last day of this quarter will be September 20th and students will enjoy a two-week break before the start of the second quarter. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Class of 2025 T-Shirt Contest! – Calling all artists and fashion gurus! We are excited to announce this year’s class t-shirt contest! If you are interested in helping to design the shirt for our class, please see rules below. If your design is selected, it will be on the shirt we will all be wearing throughout the year! Good luck!
Rules:
- Design should not be larger than 8 1/2 x 11 inch format
- Design for front of t-shirt only
- Design can include up to 3 colors including black
- Try to keep design simple for printing machine
- Must include the words “Wolf Canyon Elementary”
- Must include the year 2025
- Submission Deadline to Mrs. Alvillar: Friday, September 13th by 1:45pm
Accelerated Reader – As we close out this quarter, you child should be finishing their Accelerated Reader goal. We expect all students in sixth grade to read for one hour each day, Monday through Friday. Students read for 30 minutes in class daily and should also be reading for 30 minutes for homework.
Since this is week eight out of nine for this quarter, your student should be around 89% of their AR goal. You can stay updated with your child’s progress by logging into AR HOMECONNECT utilizing the link on the right column (To login, use your child’s six digit ID and the password is their initials lowercased and birthday (i.e.xx01012001). Once logged in, you can add your email address and receive a message every time your child finishes a book and takes an Accelerated Reader quiz.
